Bad Behavior

Bad behavior might look like:

• Petting or hugging a dog who doesn’t want interaction

• Yelling at or scolding a dog

• Using aversive tools, such as prong or shock collars, chokers, or spray bottles

• Forcing a dog into a situation that makes it feel unsafe

• Leaving children unsupervised with a dog

• Punishing a dog for fearful or reactive behavior

• Punishing a dog for having a potty accident

Sometimes we need a reframe on our expectations. Often it helps to think about life from the perspective of the dog.
